The Crocodile

Once there was a crocodile,
that chose to linger for a while,
right there on the beach,
just beyond anyone’s reach.
Along swam a little fish
that for the crocodile could be a dish,
but it swam very fast,
just making it past.
the Crocodile
still lingering, a while,
finding itself very hungry
and getting somewhat angry.
So the croc was eyeing a frog
that was resting nearby on a log,
and as the crocodile opened its jaws,
down swooped a crow
saying craw craw,
snatching up the frog with flair,
carrying it away up into the air,
to alight on a branch in a tall tree—
never again the frog did I see.
