The Crows
They come
From everywhere:
A funeral gathering
Of the crow family
In a tall tree.
They come
To mourn one of their own.
In their wisdom
Do they sense more
Then we can fathom?
A warning of dark days to come,
A tragedy unfolding,
Humans losing their way
Losing integrity
Loosening the bonds
Of caring and compassion
To their fellow travelers
In this journey called Life
Given to each of us
At the miraculous moment
Of our birth?
Listen,
Oh, listen to their voices
Calling out to us
Giving fair warning.
