The Summons

Darkness has befallen this land
The Heavens are weeping
Fearing for the soul of our nation.

Light
And darkness
Are battling
In this world so troubled
So torn.

Truth and clarity
Honor and integrity
Are struggling
Under the onslaught
Of lies and distortion
Greed and cruelty.

We are called,
each of us,
To rise
Rise and embrace
our Better Selves
If we are to have a future.
