The Challenge
Life seems like a Jenga game
These days.
The tower of blocks assembled
With Care and precision
Sturdy
though some of the pieces
timeworn and not as smooth
As before.
We all knew the rules.
But now there is a new player
And his acolytes
At the table.
They took over the game.
Breaking the old rules
Established long ago.
They take their turns
by themselves,
Unbidden,
Removing blocks at random
And we realize to our horror
That they are not removing them
diligently
to keep the tower standing.
No, they’re removing them
Now
With the intent to destroy
the careful balance
The intricate designs that keep
The tower from collapsing.
What will we do?
Will we watch
Frozen
as chaos unfolds
Or
Will we stay their hands
their actions to prevent
Further and final destruction?
